Friendship ... Amitié

En rentrant de mon premier séjour chez Marcia, en 2005, j'ai trouvé un merveilleux petit livret dans ma valise ....

When I went bach from my first visit to Marcia(2005) I found a wonderful little book in my suitcase:

"Special Friends"

Lots of nice illustrations and thinkings about this wonderful tie between two people . It is a priceless treasure when you are metting someone like Marcia

L'amitié se construit pas à pas, un moment agréable en amène un autre ....

One pleasant moment builds on another

Notre amitié a commencé par un échange de courriers suite à une annonce passée dans "le Quilter Newsletters Magazine"

Je recherchais des correspondantes pour échanger ma passion ... c'était en 1996 !

Our friendship began in 1996 when I send a letter to the Q.N.M. as they had a special page for penfriends and I was looking for someone to share my passion for quilting ...

Pendant 4 ans, nous avons échangé des lettres pour faire connaissance, partager nos patrons, nos idées, nos astuces ...., puis des colis avec des tissus et des petits cadeaux...

Et enfin, en 2001, Marcia est venue me voir.

Elle est passée par la Belgique et nous avons visité Bruxelles grâce à mon oncle et ma tante, parfaits guides multilingues !! Nous avons passé un moment avec ma chère Maman (qui était déjà malade malheureusement) .... un moment très fort car mères et filles étaient réunies...

Puis direction Epinal et Paris en pour fêter ses 50 ans ..!

During 4 years , we have shared letters with news about us and our family, with new ideas and tips about patchwork and quilting.. later we sent boxes and little gifts ..

Finally in 2001, Marcia went to visit me. We visited Bruxelles thanks my uncle René and my aunt Alice, the perfect multilingual tourist guides (!). Then we spent a great time with my mother (she was at the beginning of her cancer) and it was so special to be together like this : mothers and daughters .. a wonderful memory...

Finally, we celebrated Marcia's Birthday in Paris ! A great time too!

At this time I didn't take so many pictures than today.. but this one has been taken in front of the famous quiltshop in Paris "Le Rouvray"

A cette époque, je ne prenais pas autant de photos que maintenant.. mais en voici une prise devant la célèbre boutique du Rouvray.

Ensuite .. des tas de bons moments .. trop pour les résumer !

And then so many good times ! It is impossible to summarize them. Just two more pictures:

in St Cloud and in Paducah.... among the great times we have spent together with Marilyn !

Now, we feel so connected that we seem to be speaking with one heart and one mind

Sharing the story of how and why and when we became friends warms our hearts

It becomes clear how precious this one life has become to each other

We know we have been graced with the gift of a very special friend

Que de beaux souvenirs vous avez pu engranger. Avec la Toile des amitiés virtuelles se nouent et parfois elles deviennent réalité. C'est cette possibilité qu'offre un ordinateur "ouvrir" les horizons et parfois faire de belles rencontres. Bisous.
